Global Grassroots Top 10 Events In The Country

MadeHoops - Location: Everywhere - MadeHoops has completely dominated the grassroots space for 10 years with high-quality events, top talent, and marketing. They have so many events that could take up the majority of the list we will just put their events all together a place them #1. For years Chad and the MadeHoops staff have brought us the future of the NBA before they grace the high school stage.


MSCS (Middle School Championship Series) Location: Chicago, IL- MSCS has  worked diligently and precisely to put on arguably the biggest event of the year. The first year, which was two years ago set the world on fire and had the #1 grassroots Adidas team vs the #1 Nike-based team in the country with all the top kids in attendance. This helps build the momentum to help the MSCS brand surpass people who have been in the game longer. The MSCS brand has opened up qualifying tournaments in Phoenix, Dallas, Minneapolis, and Atlanta thats is open to anyone who choose to compete for one of the spots for the finals. The finals is totally FREE. MSCS covers all expenses to the top 8 qualifying teams.


Battle of the Magic City Showcase (Hoover, AL) Clyde’s event has been one of the hottest for the longest time. He’s hosted the who’s who of basketball for the past 7 or 8 years. It's so long that he has a few players from the event in the NBA now. This event hosts 300-plus teams yearly and always has the top teams and players in the country in attendance.


Balling on the Beach (Ft. Laudedale, FL) This event hosts close to 600 teams with 300 more dying to get in. Having 600 good teams isn’t realistic but they do have the top players and teams in attendance filled with all the best media. This event will always have the who’s who of youth sports in the building, as well as NBA players and social media influencers.


Coast2Coast Preps/GSE (Rockwall, TX) This event has been nationally at the start of the season for the past few years. This tournament has been start of most player and team rankings being made or adjusted. They host MAJORITY of the teams vying to be ranked and notarized. Now that Coast2CoastPreps is under new management, and GSE has partnered with the company, this will be interesting to see if they can keep that momentum moving forward.



Jr. Peach State (Augusta, GA) Jr Peach State is one of the last tourneys of the summer but it brings a lot of the top teams in the south and East Coast in to compete amongst some of the best teams in the country. Shoe brand and affiliation don’t matter so all brands are competing against one another.


Down by the River ( Memphis, TN) Curtis took his top-notch promotion from years in the club industry and put it into basketball. Now this is the 9th year of the event and all of the hottest programs from as far as Wisconsin to Texas have been a part of one of the biggest tournaments in the south. A lot of players get their first sign of recognition at this event. He’s hosted up to 300 teams in the city of Memphis. Always pulling some of the best in the country.


Hoopsource Presidents Day tournament (Portland, OR) Hoopsource is a tourney that has hosted almost every top program in America. These guys work hard to make sure the top kids and the top teams make it to Portland, Oregon throughout their grassroots career. They have hosted 500-600 teams for years. They have also hosted several pro players, McDonald’s All-Americans, and college stars. I can name plenty of the college stats and pros that are currently producing right now that have been to the Presidents Day event.


1 Movement Never Walk on Hardwood (Kansas, MO) Brooks is a master of consistency. Everything will be done on a professional level and on time. His Never Walk on Hardwood Classic is in year 10 and has birthed his 1 Movement company to host many other events. This tournament hosts 300-350 teams annually and always has the best teams in the Midwest in attendance. His professionalism and how well his events are running are at the top of any list.


Hell’s Kitchen (Detroit, MI) Sam promotes with the same fire and passion he coach with. He has worked this tournament into one of the must-stop spots in the country. The Michigan-based tournament is guaranteed to have some of the top-ranked teams in attendance and the atmosphere is always on fire.
